THE HOUSE
Laudanda Dea began with a love of creation.
At its heart is the belief that adornment can be much more than decoration. A small object, carefully placed, can change a silhouette, express a mood, or become something you keep for years.
The process is deliberately personal: there is no assembly line, no rush to reproduce the same thing endlessly. Every piece passes through the hands of its maker and carries something of that process with it.
Our inspirations move freely between nature, art, architecture, textiles and the everyday details that tend to be overlooked. A flower, a bird, a movement, a colour, an old image or an unexpected object can become the beginning of a collection.
Laudanda Dea is based between Milan and Yerevan, bringing together two places with very different histories but a shared appreciation for craftsmanship, beauty and making by hand.
THE HAND BEHIND THE PIECES
The story begins with a maker who has been creating for as long as she can remember.
Her professional life took her in other directions — through medicine and sport — but making things never disappeared. It began with embroidery, where threads became intricate images and small pieces of fabric became something much larger than their materials suggested.
Over time, the experiments moved beyond embroidery. Necklaces, jewellery, textiles and other forms of handmade work followed. Eventually, she found the form that felt most natural: the brooch.
There was something about the brooch that made everything come together. It could be sculptural without being distant, expressive without being permanent, and intimate enough to become part of someone's everyday life.
Laudanda Dea grew from there.
Today, the House brings together her craftsmanship and a contemporary approach to design, communication and fashion. One creates the object; the other builds the world around it.
Neither exists without the other.
WHY WE EXIST
Adornment has always been a way of saying something without words.
Long before fashion became an industry, people used objects to wear colour, memory, identity and meaning. We are interested in that older relationship with ornament: when choosing what to wear was a little more personal.
Today, accessories are often made to follow a season and then disappear with it.
We would rather make things that stay.
A Laudanda Dea piece is not meant to be worn once and forgotten. It can become part of a favourite coat, accompany someone to an important evening, be passed from one person to another, or simply sit in a wardrobe until the right moment comes.
OUR APPROACH
We begin with a feeling, an image, a form or a story.
From there, an idea is developed through colour, texture, thread and shape until it becomes something that can be worn.
Some pieces take days to complete. Some are made only once. Others return in slightly different forms, because handmade work is never quite identical.
For us, this is part of the beauty.
Translating fragments of nature, art, and everyday surroundings into sculptural brooches that quietly reshape how adornment is seen and felt.
